Controlling Humidity Means Improved Readiness

Corrosion kills readiness, eats budgets, wastes manpower and jeopardizes lives.  Vehicles, electronics, gear, weapons and ammunition all succumb over time to high humidity conditions.  Rot, spoilage, mold and mildew can also destroy organic materials.

The military must be ready and be able to operate with confidence under the harshest of conditions. Our proven comprehensive Controlled Humidity Protection program will provide huge benefits to Readiness, Budgets and overcoming personnel limitations.

Combat Corrosion = Combat Readiness

Humidity Challenges for the Military

The challenges facing the military organizations of today aren't just on the battlefield. Budgets shrink or are not steadily funded.  Manpower is always short. Systems are either aging and repair intensive or newer and more complex with corrosion sensitive materials and electronics.  Improperly stored gear rots or becomes unusable due to mold and mildew or has become pest infested.

The operational pace for units is BE READY NOW.  They must be able to deploy in hours, not weeks or months to meet the real world threats of today.  When a unit is gone, the equipment left behind is often in need of massive rebuild efforts by the time they return due to the elements and non-use.

Protect Your Readiness and Budgets

Armored and soft skinned vehicles, aircraft, combat gear, ammunition, medical supplies and thousands of other pieces of much needed equipment can benefit from Controlled Humidity Protection (CHP).  Solutions for long-term preservation in fixed shelters to operational paced mobile field operations and everything in between exist or can be engineered using our 30 years of DoD experience.

Long Term Protection (LTP) -  LTi site and system engineering for these applications provides best value solutions for dehumidification of metal or tension fabric shelter(s) or existing suitable government owned or controlled shelter(s) in order to preserve equipment for a period of one to five years.

Modified Long Term Protection (MLTP) -  MLTP applications, as with LTP, provide dehumidification of metal or tension fabric shelter(s) or existing suitable government owned or controlled shelter(s). Recognizing the operational requirements for equipment designated for MLTP, LTi applications are designed to facilitate the regular availability of equipment for training and operational missions while accruing the maximum maintenance deferral advantages of LTP.

Operational Protection (OP) -  LTi OP applications provide cost-effective solutions for the dehumidification of specified operating and interior spaces of designated vehicles/items of equipment and aircraft in order to reduce maintenance on critical and sensitive weapons or support system components.  LTi has provided, and continues to offer two options or alternatives for meeting OP requirements:

1) OP Line Applications. OP lines consist of from five to twenty OP points per system, depending on the size of the dehumidifier. The applications are capable of being installed in any existing improved or unimproved areas with adequate electrical power.  Each line application may support one or more types of equipment and may include equipment specific covers and battery charging systems.  For deployment purposes our Containerized Mobile OP system (CMOPS) has been containerized into a self contained (just bring the power) standard  ISO 20' Shipping Container.

2) Single Vehicle OP Applications - The LTi Single Vehicle Environment Stabilization System (SVESS™) is a small dehumidifier adapted to operate and be transported by a variety of combat vehicles and communications-electronics (CE) shelters. Commonly used for low density vehicles (e.g., at an Armory), the SVESS™ has the added advantage of operating on common single phase/120 VAC power.

Dehumidified Containerized Storage (DCS) - A family of Container Storage Options using ISO Containers, Tri-con and Quad-cons. Other sizes available as well as retrofit kits for use of existing containers.

Why Logis-Tech?

LTi developed and patented our Environment Stabilization Systems (ESS®) approach for creating a corrosion-inhibiting, low-humidity “desert” environment as part of a Navy-sponsored Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program in 1992. We demonstrated that a fully integrated, turn-key, low-humidity environment is cost-effective when used and maintained throughout the year, regardless of ambient conditions; and that equipment placed into the controlled environment (without additional protection preparation) remains operationally ready without corrosion degradation.

This proven, industry-leading solution is so successful in preventing equipment degradation that systems maintained in a CHP environment can have all scheduled maintenance deferred while remaining immediately available and mission capable for operational deployment or training.

Logis-Tech has been privileged to serve the Department of Defense and all branches of the Armed Services to ensure the Government receives maximum value for the dollars it invests in our National Defense.

Logis-Tech, inc's (LTi) patented Controlled Humidity Protection (CHP) business method known as ESS® (Environment Stabilization System®) is designed to provide the most cost effective equipment protection program in the industry. These systems dramatically reduce maintenance costs and increase equipment utilization and availability.

ESS® systems in government studies have shown a 9-to-1 or higher return on investment (ROI) with capitalization costs recovered in less than one year. ROI and capital recovery depends on the application
