Hawaii National Guard
November, 2007
Hawaii National Guard (HIANG) continues to reap the benefits of Controlled Humidity Protection (CHP) for their F-15 aircraft, aerospace ground equipment (AGE) and Avionics Immediate Shop (AIS) since the introduction of CHP in July 2006. The application of dehumidification to HIANG F-15 aircraft on the flight line has not only significantly reduced monthly maintenance actions and improved mission readiness but has also provided substantial cost and maintenance man-hour avoidance. CHP for HIANG AGE has also paid dividends by reducing corrosion corrective/repair actions for the unit. HIANG KC-135 aircraft on the flight line will also be reaping the benefits of dehumidification as installation of its CHP flight line system will be begin in September of this year.

Logis-Tech IUID
September, 2006
Logis-Tech, Inc. recently completed an Item Unique Identification (IUID) experiment for NATO’s Allied Command Transformation Logistics Branch. The project demonstrated the benefits and challenges of IUID implementation to enhance entity/item visibility. Included in this experiment was the requirement to integrate RFID automated asset tracking. RFID interoperability with Unique Identification (UID) is a program that will enable easy access to information about equipment that will make acquisition, repair, and deployment of items faster and more efficient. The experiment clearly showed that IUID implementation with RFID will provide the following benefits to NATO:

- Lower item management costs
- Item data necessary for top-level logistics and engineering analysis
- Accurate sources for property and equipment valuation and accountability
- Improved access to historical data for use during systems design and throughout the life of an item
- Better item intelligence for warfighters for operational planning
- Reduced workforce burden through increased productivity and efficiency
- Improve inventory accuracy
- Improve the efficiency of material management practices
